Thanks for voicing this. Not a popular viewpoint amongst vegans unfortunately, but I can personally testify to the damage soy did to my health. Thyroid dysfunction, serious hormonal disruption with very painful consequences, and intestinal distress, were the worst effects for me.

Much as I loved my tofu, I'm very glad that I killed my addiction to it and went on to tempeh which I have about once a fortnight. The rest of the time I gather protein from a wide range of other vegan possibilities. I now do quite a lot of fermenting too which provides very healthful end-products for vegans to eat.

Thank you for your well thought-out opinion on soy consumption. I think you are right- our diets should be based around whole beans, vegetables, fruits, and grains, as well as nuts and seeds. Soy products are side options, and not at all the center of a healthy vegan diet.
