I crave soy!

by Lissa
(Los Angeles)

After going running for several miles or doing another workout and begin to feel hungry, I crave soy (tofu) and broccoli more than any other foods! I have been a vegetarian for 30 years and I eat soy in all its forms (soymilk, edamame, soy sausage, tofu, seitan, soy protein powder, soy cheese, vegannaise, etc.).

I always try to buy ORGANIC soy because I do not want to support with one single dime of my income any industrially farmed or GMO crops. (You effectively vote on food systems with your dollars.) So I will pay a higher price as needed for organic soy. But I feel great eating soy, great energy, great digestion, good complexion, and I have always believed that if there were a problem with this food my body would tell me (as it does with organic coffee, for example, when I am sick--I can't stand even the smell of it!).

I saw a bumper sticker here in Los Angeles: "I think, therefore I am vegan." I think this says it all. Vegans "think" more than everyone else; they are better informed about objectionable, often abominable, industrial food practices. I have been thinking and living thoughtfully since I came of age and will be a committed vegetarian--virtually vegan, with a weakness for parmesan and yogurt--for life.

Love soy forever

by Kelly
(Winnipeg)

I love soy. I eat lots of soy products and don't believe all the negative comments about it. I think cruel dairy farmers made it up!
