Mai Thai Restaurant in Boise, Idaho

by Crystal
(Meridian, Idaho, USA)

Asian cuisine is not usually my favorite but if you are ever in downtown Boise, you should check this one out. Everything on the menu is made vegan and it might be difficult for a meat eater to tell the difference. They will also adjust the spiciness to the individual taste. I prefer mild, my husband prefers spicy! We eat there at every excuse.

They make dishes with either meat, vegetarian or vegan. We like the roast duck, the chicken dishes and many of the others. I always get them vegan and mild. Our eldest daughter is actually very allergic to beef or beef stock and she has been able to eat there for 20 years without a worry.

They now serve a brunch which we haven't had the time to try yet. Our youngest daughter and her family have eaten there so much they have become acquainted with the owner. They have two adopted Vietnamese 15-year old children who have always been vegetarian and they also love the food there. As the menu says, they fix your order in the exact manner you want it ~ meat or vegan, mild to authentically spicy!

You may already also know about a couple of vegetarian restaurants in the Palm Springs area our daughter alerted us to a couple of years ago we've eaten at several times now called Native Foods. They have 12 locations and we have eaten at two of them. The one at 1775 E Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs has an outdoors eating area which is nice and the food was great. The other one was in Palm Desert but I don't see it listed on the internet and I see the one in Palm Springs is closed right now for renovation. They are strictly vegan and it's fun to eat there knowing that. We felt the food was good. You can reach their internet site at: www.nativefoods.com.

I love your website and will be visiting as often as I can. Robert Cohen directed me to it and I spent about as much time there as he did - maybe more! Thanks for all your hard work.
