Sitar Indian Cuisine

by Denise
(Nashville)

I am vegetarian now for over 20 years. I love the Sitar Indian Cuisine at 116 21st Ave N, Nashville. (I think they also have locations in Knoxville, TN on Kingston Pike and in Kingsport, TN.) Sitar offers vegetable samosas that are very good as an appetizer. The matar panir and palak allo are my favorite main dishes. The matar panir has green peas with homemade Indian cheese or potatoes.

The palak allo is potatoes cooked in spinach and spices. For dessert, I like firni, a custard milk with pistachios and almonds. The naan bread is quite good, and the lassis (a yogurt drink) are to die for. Sitar is a traditional Indian restaurant. They also serve meat if your significant other has to have that. I highly recommend Sitar Indian Cuisine.

Response to Question (Sitar)
by: Denise

Someone posted a question whether a recipe could be gotten for cheese and yogurt. If you're asking about recipes from Sitar, the restaurant, I don't think they are into giving out recipes. But look their number up and inquire. Who knows? (I feel bad now writing about dairy products on a vegan site. My apologies. I am vegetarian going vegan. I'll do better.)

Indian Cuisine, Sitar?
by: LyNel

any chance we could get the recipes to make at home. Especially the cheese & yogurt?
