I've been stuck in an eating disorder relapse for a month now or so. I've been wanting to go vegan for a long time (I've been vegetarian for almost a year, I had to take a break for a few years but before that I had been vegetarian for five years.) I've been restricting my calories to 200-500 a day and I know that's bad but I feel like veganism really could be the answer to my questions, I feel like it could help me recover.
My issue is my weight though, I'm in the healthy weight range for my height but I still have a lot of visible body fat, like a lot.. I'm afraid if I transition to a vegan diet, I will gain weight because of the restriction my body is used to. Is this true? Is it possible for me to lose weight after I transition? That's the only thing stopping me and I'm hesitant to change my lifestyle because of this. Thank you for your time!
