Going Vegan: Taking Control the Only Way I Can

by Jill

In this world of mass advertising and focus on profits and appearance rather than subtance, I began to feel like a victim. As I read about vaccinations being contaminated with mercury mandated to the population, the constant talk of dieseases like diabetes I started to wonder how else I was being controlled. Maybe I can't reverse the damaging choices I made out of ignorance but now that I'm aware that I actually have a choice over my health, I had to make the correct one.

Maybe a person has to be in the right point in their life to truly see the injustice in the world and begin to question everything, but I hope they can simply read the vast resources citing the connection between animal products and disease. Processed food and meats are heavily advertised because they have to be; they're simply unhealthy. Our society is treating us like drones and poisoning us. But I know I have a choice. This month I decided to be vegan. If I continued to eat animal products I could no longer claim ignorance for I would be knowingly victimizing myself. So, in staying true to my beliefs and nurturing my body instead of being a consumer looking for their next fix, I feel empowered.

My eyes are now open. I hope you make the choice to truly become an individual by at least questioning what we are being fed by these billion dollar industries. Just second guess and search for truth because appearances are deceiving.

Best Wishes,

Very well said! I've questioned why IAR changed so much after I retired. It was the right point in my life to do so.
