Losing Weight on Vegan Diet

Losing Weight on a Vegan DietThe difference cutting out animal products makes is tremendous!
I used to weigh 14 stone (196 pounds) and I'm only 5'3 short. I carried it quite well but I knew I was too heavy and nothing seemed to work. When I turned vegetarian (along with exercise) within 6 months I had lost 2 stone (28 pounds). In this time I also cooked EVERY one of my own meals too! At that time I was the healthiest I had ever been and my body reacted straight away! Now that I am vegan, my weight is dropping a lot slower but my body shape is changing so I look thinner and every day this affirms I have made the right choice for my health.
Something as simple as replacing cow's milk with soya milk and ditching eggs started this change in my body - I still continued to eat rubbish, just less of it! Soya milk tastes nicer anyways!
It's something to commit to though, you have to realise the difference you are making each day and why you're doing it. I find if I'm doing things just for myself it's not enough - yes it's nice I'm losing weight, but I still smoke so I'm not that bothered about being healthy... but the fact that I am helping the environment and not contributing to the horrible process of farming and exploiting animals makes my mind healthy and keeps me going!
Good luck.
