I just became vegan a couple days ago. I have been vegetarian or pescatarian most of my life but recently made the switch. I had been meaning to go vegan but had not felt ready to do so.
Watching this documentary was really eye-opening and made me realize a lot of serious detrimental health effects that eating even eggs, dairy, fish and chicken cause. For example, we never correlate diabetes with meat or dairy- it's usually sugar. Meat and dairy are huge factors that increase the risk of developing diabetes, and yet the American Diabetes Association fails to mention this. We learned more shocking facts like this and I would highly recommend "What the Health."
