I watched "What the Health" on Netflix last evening. I was absolutely stunned that so much of the content applied to me and my family! My husband has MS and Type 2 Diabetes (both adult onset mid 40s). My mother-in-law has Type 1 Diabetes, Asthma and joint pain, (all adult on-set mid-50s), and I am a ball of stiffness and weight gain.
I woke this morning determined to correct as much of this, for me, as I can, with research and implementing changes in my lifestyle. I truly believe that if they see changes in me, it will inspire them to make some changes themselves. Food is the beginning.
When I saw the science behind the effects of animal products on the human body I realized I had been duped by the food industry all my life. I felt bad for myself, my children, my parents, their parents, etc... I refuse to feel bad about my grandchildren. They are small enough to reverse any affects that they may have experienced up to now... Changes in me will be seen by my children, which, I hope will lead to changes in them, for their health and their children.
And the poor animals... I just can't say anything about that without wanting to cry... Nothing... NOTHING... tastes that good...
This will be a journey, but I'm excited!
